My "NEW" console table and lampshade

The BEFORE and AFTER PICTURES
of the accent table, lampshade and curio.

At one corner of my living room are my favorite framed photo collections on an accent table by a curio with things I have collected from our travels over the years and gifts from loved ones. And with life being so busy, my collections have become a little cluttered, so I thought it's time to give these babies a FACE LIFT!
It's time for some of those small framed photos to go in my scrapbook, move the curio next to my fireplace and give that accent table a new look.
I removed the glass top and replaced it with a laminated pine, painted it black and see how it transforms to become a console table. An old lampshade from my family room needed a facelift as well. Again, spray paint~ my new
bestfriend to the rescue!
The displays on the curio looked so much better with a nice backdrop (which was actually a gift wrapping paper I adhered with double sided tape) especially when the lights are on.
I spray painted the lamp with Oil Rubbed Bronze, covered the shade with left-over fabric to match my throw pillows, added a trim (which I also spray painted to match the lamp), embellished with an old necklace and it's a totally
new look!
I moved the whole vignette (is that considered a vignette?) by the entrance of
my home, by the living room, finished up by hanging a large mirror, also painted
the frame black, and the finished look is so different, and so much pulled together.
I added a few vintage books I got from a yard sale, a special framed family
(childhood) photo and some beautiful accents from "Fitzgerald's Home Decor"
and viola!
I liked how it turned out, I hope you like it too. =)

Wall Clock Make Over

I've been decorating my home and designing on a dime. Spray paint has been my bestfriend lately. One of my latest projects that I'm quite proud of is this starburst clock~ which I was inspired by Stephanielynn @ Under the Table and Dreaming. I thought I'd give one of my clocks a make over; one that was from Ikea~ simple, round and silver. Just perfect to give a different look...and voila! I love it. It's now in our family room on the wall above the tv. It's amazing what barbeque skewers, metallic silver spray paint and hot glue gun can do! Hope you like it too! Thanks for stopping by!
