Vintage Corner

One of my latest addition at my flower shop is a Vintage Corner. Here is where I display my great finds from yard sales, thrift stores and flea markets. I had so much fun putting and displaying them together as much as when I went finding them just around town.

These are just a few of them. Milk glass hobnail vases, footed glasses, pitcher and planters. Ahhh...whites! So pretty... and so divine...these collections bring some nostalgia. I just love it! I hope you do, too! Enjoy!

Decoupaged Easter eggs.

As a florist, I am always surrounded with fresh flowers (plants and permanent botanicals) everyday. I start my day at the shop arranging flowers and end my day with more arranging flowers! How lucky am I to be working with beautiful works of nature!

With fresh flowers so accessible to me, I enjoy working on pressed flowers as well. I use them on my handmade cards, framed art work, and now...I used them to spruce up some Easter eggs I bought from Michael's.

These Easter eggs are so much prettier when I added pressed flowers using decoupage technique. I just glued a few pressed flowers on the (plastic) eggs using liquid glue, then brushed on modge podge onto it. I a few minutes for it to dry before I brush on more layers of modge podge. The modge podge is white when you brush them on, but it dries clear. And the finished product is so pretty and shiny too!

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Not just for Christmas anymore!

Oh wow...it's been a while since my last posting. Well, a lot of things has happened, some happy, some sad, plus, I've really been quite busy. Well...I'm back!

Anyway, I've started to put on my Easter display at my flower shop a few of weeks ago...but it was just recently that I stumbled upon these Christmas balls/ornaments in one of my drawers. Thanks to my bff Theisa, she gave these to me a couple of years ago when she cleaned out her garage. She gave me some of her "junk" and as we all know, a person's junk could be another person's treasure. Amen to that! Although she got these for $1.99/box of 24 balls, well, I got them for...ummm...FREE! =)
I loved that these balls were irredescent~ clear, green and blue. Hmm...perfect for my Easter display! (Well, I'm using the blue ones later...)

So I just used monofilament fishing line, (which I already have at home), strung them together, and hang them from the ceiling next to my Chinese lanterns! I also put a few balls on my mansanita branch display, where I hang some necklaces and bracelets in pretty spring color beads.

So, these Christmas ornaments are not just for Christmas decors anymore! Hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a beautiful day!
